We don't sell PVC shutters
Some companies push PVC (plastic) shutters because they're slightly cheaper (although not always) and faster to supply — but they tend to sag, bow and discolour over time, and simply won't last or give you the finish your home deserves. At Shutters NI we refuse to fit them. You'll only ever get premium hardwood or quality waterproof faux-wood from us — built to look beautiful for years to come.
- PVC usually comes with a shorter warranty than natural wood.
- PVC is heavier than natural wood, which can put strain on your window frames and fixings.
- It doesn't look natural, doesn't last, and is far less forgiving than wooden shutters.
- If a fault develops, a PVC shutter usually means replacing the entire unit — which works out very expensive.
- Wooden shutters are much easier and cheaper to repair on the rare occasion they ever need it.
- PVC doesn't provide the heat or sound insulation that natural wooden shutters do.
